My name is Virginia Garcia, and I am excited to be a part of Our Lady of Grace Catholic School as your part time school counselor! I am from San Antonio, but have been a community member of Pleasanton since 1986. I love the small town feeling and especially the kind folks of the community. I live with my husband on a farm and raise cattle and chickens, along with a dog and two cats. Living in the country is a most rewarding gift from God. I always find myself talking with Him in the quietness of the fields, and seeing the miracles He performs when hardships come.
My experience with counseling ranges from serving students at Pleasanton ISD to East Central ISD for 31 years. Of those 31 years, I taught 3rd and 4th grade for 9 years. Every year has been a joy and a rewarding experience for me. I am passionate about the ethics of school counseling, and plan on continuing to adhere to them.
My goals for being a school counselor at Our Lady of Grace are to support our students with positive actions and great listening. As well, I hope to achieve being a part of the school's mission by helping students to understand that God loves us for who He is, not for who we are. He is an awesome God, and I hope to reflect that in this new endeavor! Our successes are great, but servicing Him is the true success as we become adults.
I am excited about starting my first year here at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School.
